WhenOutlander was filming in Ayrshire, we couldn’t help but think back to one of the most picturesque and memorable weddings we've photographed — right at the beautiful Glencorse House and Glencorse Old Kirk, just outside Edinburgh. This exclusive venue is truly a hidden gem and even appeared in earlier episodes of the hit drama series (we’re big fans too!). With its peaceful private grounds, scenic lake, and charming 17th-century kirk, Glencorse House is one of the most romantic and unique wedding venues in Scotland— perfect for couples looking for an elegant yet intimate setting surrounded by nature and history.
A Real Glencorse Wedding Story: Rosie & Hanlo
Rosie and Hanlo’s wedding was a wonderful blend of cultures — a warm and joyful celebration of Scottish, New Zealand, and South African traditions. Every detail of their day, from the heartfelt ceremony in Glencorse Old Kirk to the lively evening reception in the marquee, reflected their story and heritage. The beautiful surroundings of Glencorse gave us endless opportunities for natural and relaxed photography — from candid moments among the trees to romantic portraits by the water.
And yes, we were also treated to a very special guest — Rosie’s beloved pony, who completely stole the show (and our hearts).
